Why are cats so funny?

There's a cat that comes to my window everyday asking for food. I generally give her some milk or cheese. Yes it's a she; she recently gave birth, but I'm sorry to say I haven't seen her kittens yet. She's really picky with food. I prefer to feed cats with appropriate stuff that is already in the fridge instead of those bagged products.

Well as much as I like this cat very much it also really does a good job geting on my nerves. She comes to the window and always tries to get in (I hate cats in the kitchen - you never know what they'll poke their nose into)

This cat is always hungry, she can eat 5 times as much as I do and still have the urge to miouw for food at my window. If I ignore her presence she will always attempt to come in somehow, and that how is always when I'm looking somewhere else. We always meet halfway down the hall stare at each other for a second and then I chase her out.

When her tummy is full and she finally feels that she can't drink milk anymore, she will run off to another window to see what the other neighbour has to offer, even if I'm trying to play with her. Many a times have I been deserted by a cat who runs off towards something shiny in the distance, leaving me with a ball of wool in my hands trying to catch its attention. :(

My neighbour Katty sits on my window sill time after time, and when I see her I try to play with her, but most of the time she doesn't even notice I am there. And I hate her indifference. She nags at me when she's hungry, but when I want to get friendly with her she doesn't even turn her head as if she's sunbathing and doesn't want to be disturbed.

Whenever you want to show off with your cat, it leaves you and run to the nearest window and plays tarzan on the curtains. It doesn't matter if you shout out loud "com'on kitty, good kitty, aunti Susan wants to meet you". It will not respond as if you weren't even there. Where do they get the nerve?

Cats are famous for their ungratefulness. Dog people (people who like dogs much much more than they are fond of cats) always point to this fact. You'll never know if your cat really likes you, or even knows you. They will eat the cat food, stroll around the house, do a few acrobacy tricks, come to you for a nice stroke on the tummy and that's all. Disregarding the rub they do your leg from time time, the cat won't show you affection. It's not in their nature. Do not expect your cat to treat you as you treat them.

Just like with Katty my neighbour, that cool attitude makes me say, "I wish I was a cat!" Wouldn't it be wonderful to be lying around all day, sunbathing, taking a stroll now and then, sleeping, getting a rub when I want, being able to sleep wherever I want, (and this is the best) doing nothing in return :). I so admire them, oh, I wish I was a cat. They're so COOL...

How can animals be so cool and that cute at the same time? It must be something about the feline species. Royalty from their distant cousin the lion mixed with a touch of elegance and cuddliness, displayed with some acrobacy. All in a small format, to show some cuteness. Yes this is the nature of a cat. When you add all this up you get a funny mixture.

All that attitude! Cats carry a self esteem that makes you feel stupid in their presence, but when they are offered something they can't resist, like a shiny toy of delicious food, all that attitude melts away and they do all the stupid things you can imagine. And its all out of curiosity.

Let's give a hand to the famous saying "Curiosity killed the cat", Well in our case the cat would say "If I weren't that curious, I'd always have attitude, dude"

When it comes to getting their hands on something they want they forget all that attitude, and that cool cat turns into a funny cat doing all sorts of funny stuff.

Yes you heard it right, Cats are amazing creatures. Well you can ask back, I seem to hear you, "What is so amazing about cats?" They are sweet, adorable, playful, and ungrateful, careless, selfish, indifferent, greedy ... annnd cool at the same time. Well that is my case, isn't that why cat-lovers love cats? They are amazing.
